Late additions, NAAF 2014

The 25th Ancestor Fair is Friday, June 6th, and Saturday, June 7th. This year I want to add a little something for the fair. It was suggested to me that people who travel from out of town come to Searcy County to do a little research a few days early. On Tuesday, June 3, starting 12:30 p.m., the Searcy County Library will have a Mormon research speaker, Renee Carr of FamilySearch.org, on ordering microfilm to view on the machines at the library.

Searcy County Historical Society will sponsor a program on Thursday, June 5th, at the Searcy County Library starting  at 12:30 p.m.  Mica Balcom will have a program on Proper Cleaning Techniques of Old Head Stones. Mica has extensive training and has completed classes alone with workshops like John mortars and DT. Mica has been on the Public Broadcasting TV program  “Silent Story” along with Abby Burnett. Mica worked for the Nortons on restoring broken headstones in the area. Mica also has a business, Age Stone Company.

Hope to see you there,

Shirley J. Gray
